Illustrative example — replace with a real engagement before launch

Manufacturer: 1,900 hours a year of manual work removed

Production planning ran on a whiteboard, job cards were paper, and quality data was typed into Excel twice. We digitised the shop floor flow and automated the reporting layer above it, without replacing the ERP the company had already invested in.

The situation

What was broken

  • Production plan lived on a whiteboard and was obsolete by mid-shift
  • Paper job cards re-typed into Excel, then re-typed into the ERP
  • Quality rejection data captured but never analysed — recurring defects went unnoticed
  • Owner's weekly MIS took an analyst two full days to assemble

The work

What was actually done

  1. 01

    Digitise capture at source

Tablet-based job card capture on the shop floor, entered once by the operator with barcode-driven job selection.

  2. 02

    Integrate rather than replace

The existing ERP stayed. We built the shop-floor layer around it and pushed clean data in, protecting the client's prior investment.

  3. 03

    Automated MIS

The two-day weekly report replaced by a live dashboard plus a scheduled Monday pack delivered to the owner's inbox.

  4. 04

    Defect analytics

Rejection reasons coded and trended, surfacing two recurring root causes that had been invisible in aggregate numbers.

He did not try to sell us a new ERP. He made the one we had actually work.
